Meet
Jan and Rich Johannsen
The inventors of Grip & Tip
A Passion for Pretty Nails
Jan Johannsen loves pretty fingernails. At least twice a week
she refreshes her nail designs to coordinate with outfits
or to simply keep her hands looking beautiful. Jan’s
appreciation for nail art came naturally. She began perfecting
the craft of manicure as a child, practicing on her self,
friends, and family. Over the years, visits to professional
nail salons inspired her to refine the skill; she now prefers
her own nail art to any other.
Winning the Struggle with Nail
Polish Bottles
One evening while freshening her nails, Jan found herself
in a familiar struggle. Tilting the nail polish bottle upside
down, she tried and tried to get the brush-ful of polish needed
to apply solid, streak-free nail color. Frustration turned
into determination and the idea of Grip & Tip was born.
The New Star of Salon Supplies
…
With the help and support of technical engineer and husband
Rich Johannsen, Jan designed and constructed bottle holders
until she met her own high standards for perfection. She deemed
their new invention complete when she was able to angle the
nail polish bottle for optimum use of the nail polish, and
have both hands free for nail designs.
… and Art Supplies and
Craft Supplies too!
Jan and Rich realized quickly that Grip & Tip belonged
with salon supplies, but that it also belonged with art supplies
and craft supplies as well. It grips and tips glitter bottles,
white out, model paint, and glue with the same efficiency
Jan enjoys while doing her nails. The Johannsens make their
home in northern California and are pleased to bring an affordable
tool and convenience to artists of all types and skill levels. |
